95 Ranger 4.0 (Was Originally 3.0 Previous owner mod) Truck is a bit of a frankenstien but never had any problems until this morning go out to go to work. No start. I jumped the solenoid on the fender. I have a click noise. Changed out with an old spare. No joy. Battery is good. Terminals pretty clean. When I turn the key to actual start position (Past run) Lights go out. I also hooked a jumper from battery to small post on solenoid and hit the key. Still nothing. This bypassed the neutureral safety switch right? I am thinking now its the starter. Anyone?

Also its a 5spd truck. May have been changed. 2 unattached connectors under there but they have been unconnected since i ve owned the truck, so nothing new there. Been that way for thousands of miles.

check ground straps?, theres one above the bell housing, or atleast on the 4.0 thats where it is.

SWYNX has a point. Take a jumper cable and run one from the engine to the battery negative post, see what happens.
