Help needed

out of curiosity..... why does the rear of the truck sit so high..... mind snappin a photo of that aswell...u should be sitting pretty level unless someone did some backyard innovation back there

I have either a six or eight inch spring an i still have to come up a good 3 to 4 inches in the front to level the truck out if i still stay with the 8 inches of lift on my truck dosent superlift offer a steering kit or will this not work with this much lift

No, that steering kit won't work (it doesn't even work well with 6" lift, despite what Superlift claims :no2: ). This is where the major fabrication would come in, you would need to build something that has the steering centerlink about 5-6" lower down so it's inline with the axle (modifying the Superlift kit that amount is out as well, too much leverage on it).

Drop the rear down if you need it to match.

What would the best solution to my problem be that aint all that expensive? this is starting to turn into a real headache and a money pit i dont mind fabin stuff up but to go out an have to spend more money its not worth it to me i rather jus crush the thing an deal wit my losses before it gets real expensive.

slight stink bug is not that big of a deal, you can see whats in front of you a little better.

Junkie brought up a good point, you radius arms were not set up for a 8inch lift. And your not going to have any caster.Even if you get the toe and camber fixed with new springs, shimming up the springs etc.
Caster helps the truck track straight and the wheel return to center. So if its a street driven truck at all, its not something you want to just thorw out hte window.

going on the thought you have the "extrme drop pitman arm",allready..i cant tell from the pics....

and your hell bent on the truck being on a 8inch lift. You could always buy the drop brackets for the radius arms threw skyjacker for the 8inch kit, and grab up a set of the stock radius arm's,and matching pair of springs. Then sale the radius arms you have to offset the cost. And deal with with sorta shitty sterring.......and if you do want the truck level , you could flip the rear shackles to bring the truck down 2 inches in the rear.Other than grinding out 8 rivits, and replacing thos rivits with 1/2 inch olts and nuts, about 10 bucks and your time....so its cheap....

with the extrme pitman arm, and the 8inch kit, I can see it being any worse than my truck was with a skyjacker 6inch kit, and a 3/4" spacer under the coils with the STD. drop pitman arm.my ex g/f could drive it, so I dont belive it would be a death trap on wheels.

If you dont allready have the extrme pitman arm and you have the StD drop pitman arm,..and depending on how the brackets are built you could possibly re-drill the piviot point holes in the brackets to mimic the 6inch kit.watch for some 6inch colis to come up used...

or watch for a 6inch kits to come up used in your price range.

lets see some pics of what your rear springs are.....and do you have blocks under the springs?...and how many leafs are in the pack, and dose one or two of the leafs look "odd" to the other like someone threw in add a leafs?
If you have blocks or add a leafs you could always pull one of the other to lower the rear down some.to level it out if you go to a smaller lift

Instead of putting the stock radius arms back on do you think if i made some brakets up to drop mine down a few inches this will help with my caster? I had brought the truck down to a spring shop for them to look at it so i really cant take any pics of the rear untill i go an get it but i know that it has lift springs in it and there sitting on the stock blocks but i dont if there evan for a ranger.

yes I guess you could rebulid the piviot boxes so they are lower to correct the caster. But if you do that your going to lose ground cleaance and brake over angle.
IF you do do that, I would make a cross brace between the the mounts so you dont dont have alot of frame twist.the lower parts of the C channel is really going to take a beating if you dont.

the rear blocks should be 2-2.5 inches and have a ear on the inside of them if they are the facotry blocks....pull them out and lower the rear of the truck.

with 8inches of lift your really going to want that extrme pitman arm to make the truck drivable .stilll going to have bumpsteeer, but.....

do you have two diffrent springs in your truck now? both black in the pics above, and one green and one black one now......

The green side(passenger) dont look bad, driver side looks like your spring is short and yoru toe is out.

19 inch springs, with the truck on them? did you meassure from the bottom the of the spring to the top of the spring in the coil bucket?

cause my 6 inch skyjacker springs are 19inches free lenth and 16.25 with the truck on them and my truck is only a reg cab.....

meassure your bracket like this....

from the frame rail to the center of the piviot bolt

ur from jersey?

I found out that the springs in my truck the (black ones) are for a skyjacker 8 inch lift i called skyjacker today an tried to explain my problem an they told me to lower the back down and to buy 4 of there coil spacers 2 for each side an that should correct my problem my question is do you think this will help at all?

I belive skyjackers spacer's are 3/4" ea.

best way to make sure before you go spending the money would be to mock things up.

ethier make a 1.5 spacer for temp or pull the spring out and messaure everthing.

you will need a angle finder, and understand how to play with the camber bushing;s

do you know what size camber bushing you have in your truck now?

Can you even fit 1.5" of spacer on the stock stud? The F-150 spacers are 1" and there isn't much thread left with those...

Finally fixed my problem i had pulled the blocks out in the rear an sent it out to get a alingment and got it back yesterday the trucks looks alot better and finally goes down the road straight. Thanks for all the help
