Help me tune my suspension.

i'd say start simple, longer shocks, trim up the fenders and add some bumpstops.....then go from there

if you run the rist of over extending shock's, driveshaft, steering, then yes.

or I dunno.... to stop from destroying the leaf springs:thefinger:

Your suspension looks a bit stiff. Its definitely not matched front to rear very well, and shackle angles arent that great. Those are your main problems.

here is mine -

I am limit strapped on the front, and one in the center of the rear axle.

Care to elaborate?

mixed matched springs.
lift blocks on the rear.
shackle angles are closer to 90* than 45* like they should be.

Gotta use what you got right? Can't bitch about free springs(fronts, new Rancho 44150). I think I got screwed on the rear springs though(I had to buy those). They are supposed to be 6" Skyjackers, but I think they are the 4" hence the lift blocks(which will be eliminated eventually). The fronts and rears are close to the same spring rates, fronts are at 250.lbs and the rears are 265.lbs iirc, or maybe it was the other way around.

For the shackle angle I went with the manufacturer's spec., Rancho calls for 12-15* off of vertical at ride height for that particular spring.
Does an extra 30* of shackle angle really make that big of a difference? This is a serious question and not meant to sound argumentative.

Do you have a build thread for your truck? That thing is wicked and I would love to get a better look at it.

I run 3" trail-gear toyota leafs. Fronts are 220lb, 6 leaf, 47" long packs. rear is 235lb, 7leaf plus a torque leaf, 57" long packs.

Yes, shackle angle makes ALL of the difference in the world. My shackles are around 7" long I think. I dont remember right off the top of my head.

Your springs also need to settle.

here is my build thread -

new stuff on most every page.

Has there been any progress on your B2 since May?

Congrats on the TOTM.

its about damn time you won TOTM. congrats tom

Congrats on the TOTM! Do you have a general build thread? or somewhere I could find a full sized image of the picture used for your TOTM announcement? I really like your bumper/light configuration in that picture!

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. There hasn't been any major progress. A few little things, but just have been running it as is. Getting ready to do a 4.0 swap now.

Congrats on the TOTM.

Thanks everyone.

I don't have a general build thread. It's on the list of shit to do.

My original CAD design.

Modified design. The pockets slide over the end of the frame rails, to pull the mount/bumper in as tight to grill as I could.

The winch sits in a removable cradle, which is held in with two pins. That way I can move the winch to the back to pull if need be.
