1989 4x4 xlt 2.9 auto. Been running great until today it would act as if it was not getting fuel and you would have have to really press gas pedal to get going and it felt like something was holding it back, irradict, loping idle. New spark plugs, new aic, timing is correct, new o2 sensors, new fuel filter. No cats(none on it when I bought truck). No codes <Mechanic says he will have to start over with process of elimination in order to find problem> Let me hear some ideas to help my mechanic narrow down the process, please Thanks. Just when it is running good up jumps the devil!!!!!!!

what codes are present??

have the TFI or ignition module checked.
check for vacuum leaks
check grounds and connections.

Seems you have covered alot of ground,
Have you, or your mechanic, checked for vacuum leaks where the upper and lower intake meet??
might be a bad gasket. don't for get to check the brake booster (exspecially if you had resent FPR issues).

have the TPS back probed with a analog multimeter (needle sweep style), for smooth operation....if it has a bit of hesitation on the meter as you slowly move the throttle plate open and shut. then it may have a dead spot.

HAve they checked the fuel pressure while going down the road or while it is going through this fit?

Well I thinks it's fixed now. replaced the tps and a new vacuum line to map and one to airbox I will keep my fingers crossed
