Ok guys, im gonna order that cam later today. I looked on summit and it says for 1985 to 95. my motor is a 96. it is the same block so it should work fine right?
thanks
If you're looking for a Ford cam with a 114* LSA, then the F303 is the one you want. As for the stock lifters, they tend to float at 6500 rpms. I've got a set of Crane replacements in my 331 that are good up to 7500. The roller pushrods tend to wear to a wedge shape at the rocker ends after 100K miles. These need to be replaced at a minimum. The wear pattern is due to the fact that they do not get spun by the lifters like flat tappet rods do.
They'll work but any time you change anything in the valve train, best to check the geometry, where the rocker contacts the valve, clearance. I take it those are stud mounted rockers as opposed to pedistal. There places on the net that have some good info on the correct adjustment. Baddad mentioned the F-303 cam has the same 114 deg but the duration is 10 degs more and is going to cause problems again. It's got a lope to it but the range moves up in the rpm range. I like that cam you're buying for the torque also. Runs from about 3000 to 6000 with 350 ft-lbs of torque, that'll keep you moving. I think you said main use was a DD.

Alright guys, thanks for all the help. My combo has been decided. Im going to run the xe264 cam, edelbrock performer heads ported and polished with 1.6 roller rockers, port matched gt40 lower, gt40 upper, 30 lb injectors. how does this sound?
