HELP 92 2.3L runs with a miss

Verify it's getting spark at each plug wire.

When you pulled the plugs, did you note their position and inspect their condition?

Compression check?

Fuel injector stuck open?

any other symptoms? Check for vaccum leaks? check that the EGR system is functioning properly(if equipt)sp?

I was experiencing the dreaded occasional miss/stutter until it got so bad the the check engine light came on. The mechanic at work scanned the car and it came up with some odd code, sorry I didn't ask him for it. His reader/computer, however, gave him the info that it was intermittent power loss to the ecm. We searched around and spotted some corrosion around the positive battery terminal and thought that I should take it home and clean it thoroughly. I did that and as I was poking around I found another red wire with a blue stripe and a red plastic insulator on the starter relay. I think that's what it is, a black round thing where the red battery wire runs to located on the far right looking into the engine bay. That wire was completely covered in greenish crud and loose. I cleaned and tightened it, put in some silicone grease and all seems well, at least for now. It might be worth looking at. Maybe now I can get past emissions.

The plugs all looked to have a little white on them but all looked the same. I think I'll do a compression test and check the EGR next.

Thanks
