[HELP} 20w50 oil. Oil light flickers. Fine at idle but sometimes flickers when driving.

If you want to know the mechanical health of the engines oil system... put a gauge on it like I said 15 posts ago.

Im sorry, I was only asking any questions I could that could try and figure out the issue.

Im will be getting a gauge as soon as I can. Im just trying to get an idea on what the issue could be.

My 89 Ranger had a somewhat similar problem. It had a bad connection at the sending unit. I crimped it a little and reattached it and the problem went away.
I ran it on 20W-50 synthetic oil the whole time I owned it (almost 200K miles) without any problems with the engine.

Firstly Thank you for your service!!

Secondly, So you just replace the connections (cleaned and put the connections together) and it went away? To be honest, Im still scared and worried about it being something worse. Since I can do the work myself but this truck is my daily and I know its a pain in the rear end to pull the oil pan to then replace the pump, screen, and clean the oil pan.

Should I replace the sending unit and still put a mechanical gauge to keep tabs on stuff?
Im gonna do the gauge regardless.

The engine runs fine other than the fact the the 2150 has slightly bigger venturi than 1.08 which causes it to stumble off idle. Thats for another day haha

No, I didn't replace the connector. I just crimped the female connector on the wire a little to get a tighter fit with the sender terminal. It may not be necessary to replace the sending unit. Installing a mechanical oil gauge will tell you a lot.
