My name is Scott, I love my V6 4.0L 1990 Ranger.
we bought it with 390,999 miles on it from someone who spoke very little English and 6 months later I was driving to work and it crapped out and died.
Later we pulled the heads and found a hole in the 6th 4th cylinder. My dad decided we should put a new engine and transmission in the truck.
New Ford Motorcraft rebuilt short block-$350.00 on ebay
New A4LD transmission
After market heads (really thick cast iron)
So far I have over 12,000 miles on the truck and it has been fantastic! there is a lot more power then the old motor.
