Headlight Conversion

I searched but I couldn't find anything. I have been wanting to do this since I got the truck few years ago, but haven't had the funds, until recently, done with college, now making 3x what I was. Anyway, can you put 01+ headlight assemblies on a 99 (98-00) truck? I have looked at them at the junkyard and they look identical to the 99, hardware wise. I put HIDs in my truck so now I want the better reflectors found in the newer headlights. I have an 09 bumper and grille on my 99 right now. The only thing left to get it the lamps, I dont care about the corners so much. has anyone done this?

Maybe someone knowledgeable will chime in here but if you bought a set at a JY would they let you return them if the didn't fit?
