My credo
Duty, Honor, Country
87 BII, 4X4, 5.0l, AOD trans.

Went with Explorer exhaust manifolds at time of engine installation but now would like to replace with headers.

Has anyone installed headers without removing the engine? Is it even possible to do so?

Thanks for any feedback!

On mine (with Hedman 88400's) it was easy, I have been deeper than that:

I had Shelby Tri-Y's on my 89 2WD. If you didn't hold them up while installing the bolts, they would fall through the frame to the floor. To fit an AOD you had to tweak them to clear the 164 tooth bell. Fitting headers isn't as hard as you think.

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback. I think headers will be our next project.
