header install question

tried to fit a set of used headers off an '84, 2.8 B-II onto my '83 Ranger 2.8. wouldn't go... contact with the frame. i didn't know the front frames were different between the B-II's and the Rangers of the same gen. anyone have any thoughts? thanks.

I bought headers specifically for my Ranger an still ended up trimming the frame a bit on one side to fit em.
I'd have to look but I think it was the passengers' side I trimmed.
