Have you noticed that most old Ranger interiors smell the same. I was at the junkyard the other day and I noticed they all smelled the same not just that but my current old ranger does and so do the ones Ive had in the past.Well except for one cause of the previous owners menthol habit.

Maybe its that fresh junkyard smell

Lol....I think it has something to do with the plastic material and fabric that is used. I notice that a lot of vehicals smell the same after they are older.

You mean that sort of wet, old musty stank?

Yeah, smells great. :fie:

I found one in the junkyard with grass...and not the kind you smoke, growing in the carpet...I took it home and used my lawnmower on it and it was like new...funny, though, once I installed it in my truck the grass wouldn't grow...

This proves that smoking is bad for you and your lawn...

It's from seats getting soaked by rain, by someone who didn't shut a window.. :) Mine went completely away when I swapped to different seats. Edit: That, or old back and ass sweat.

When I bought my '87, It immediately reminded me that it smells like my friends old '90.

His 2001 does not smell anything like mine though, lol.

I also noticed the smells when I jumped into our F350 at work. It reminded me of my dad's old work truck. An old 88 or so F150. Weird....

My Ranger smelled like a wet dog when I got it. I let it air out and now it just smells like an old Ford.

yep.....old truck smell....No--not the smell from moldy seats or wet carpet!

Just the smell of a well used truck--vapors from years of oil, brake fluid, gasoline, wiring, vinyl seats/etc....back in the vinyl seat days when sweat/urine/other body "fluids" couldn;t soak into the upholstery... ;missingteeth;

Ahhhhhhhhh.....the smell of junkyard in the morning!!!!!!
