I have an 86 broncoII when it get to operateing temp it shuts off or stalls out. i have already replaced fuel filter, map sensor, dist and cap , spark plugs and:annoyed: wires set timing and belts. Im lost now had valve gasket leaks when i got it. fixed that . now it want stay runing. any help would be greatly needed.

what about the oil pressure switch.:icon_confused: what is it loossing spark or fuel?

stalling

I have an 1986 bronco ii also with the same problem, i'm going to test the tfi module as outlined in the tech section, the symptoms seems to be linked to it
:icon_confused:

I bet the TFI module is overheating...

When it stalls on you, stick your hand back there and if the TFI is wicked hott, that's probbaly the issue. Remove it and have it tested at vatozone, when putting it back on, make sure you use the grease between it and the distributor.

Also, pull the codes....

ive tried the tfi

tfi is fine , oil pressure normal. thats the problem ive just about replaced every thing. replace the tfi last month have eec on order so ill try that. thanks for every thing if that works ill let yall know.

i got it fixed the new map sensor that i put on was bad . they got me a new one . since that one wasnt but 3 months old and that seemed to fix it so far.so back up and running.

started doing the same thing but - fuel injectors were leaking just a little not noticable but sucking air . replaced injector rings all 12 and has not done it since !! it is finally back on the road!! no trouble so far. good luck to all.

what happens when you dont use grease between tfi and dizzy?

If you don't use the dielectric grease the tfi will self destruct due to overheating.

yea its called dielectric (pronounced die-electric) and they sell it at most auto part stores in single use packets for like $1

One of the first things you can do when things arn't going quite right get a can of electronic spray clean and dielectric gel and clean every conection you can find.
