Sorry for the formatting, trying to do this from my phone.

You can see the exterior and inside the door are the same color, it looks like the bright regatta blue they offered for this year, but the inside of the roof under the headliner looks much closer to midnight blue metallic.

I've been thinking about repainting the truck and I'd like to go with whatever is original to the truck, but I'm kind of confused on what color that would be

Kinda hard to tell just from pictures. Especially with sun faded paint, but my guess is there’s a fair chance it’s been repainted. Wrapping the paint into the door jambs is the proper way to paint and not a lot of shops go to that level.

What is the paint code on the door sticker? Should be a 2 digit code for exterior paint. Or just take a picture of the sticker. If the sticker is painted over, it’s definitely been a repaint on at least the door. If the sticker is missing it could be a repaint or the sticker peeled off, in which case to find the original paint code you would have to get a Marti report on the VIN or something.

Usually indicators of paint are things like poor orange peel (too much or not enough), tape lines on panel edges, jambs not painted properly, sand scratches in the paint (poorly done body work), mis-matched shades between panels (only if the whole thing hasn’t been done at once), paint code not matching the general color, runs, dirt in the paint, fish eyes in the paint, and overspray on things. Of course this all gets complicated, my dad has a ‘79 that has all factory paint (he bought it brand new and owned it the whole time) and for factory paint, it looks like it was painted in a driveway on a windy day.

Also, make sure the VIN on the door sticker matches the VIN on the dash, I’ve seen that before, which is why in more recent years the sticker was moved to the door jamb since the jamb is less likely to be replaced over a door

Its been repainted.

See the plastic bushing for the door lock post in the bottom rear of the window opening?

That should be black rubber.

Exterior is too dull and splotchy for factory paint as well.

Where the windshield wiper arms attach, the posts look like the are also painted.
