has any one done a v8 swap on a 04 ranger

if anyone knows of anyone that has done a v8 a swap on a 00 or newer ranger or done one them self. it would be great if u told me about the problems i might have, in doing this project. or the issues!

i have not done the v8 swap , but i am replacing the engine in my 00 , it has the 3.0 , let me tell you , even swapping in a replacement engine is a PITA , the engine bays in the newer trucks are not as big as the older ones , it is very tight and there is alot of wiring and such

its been done a lot. google it.

ford put a supercharged SOHC 5.4 out of a lightening into a newer ranger and thats WAY bigger than any old-school OHV.

the newer trucks arent any smaller than older rangers...ALL rangers are small.

well it just seems to me like my 92 had alot more room under the hood than my 00 , or maybe that is because the 92 only had a 2.3 in it

thoug it does seem i have more room in the 2000 compared to the 1996 , which had a 4.0

Try posting in the V-8 swap section. There is a rather good write-up in the tech libaray for using the Explorer EFI motor. Good luck, it should be fun.
