I was getting fed up with the entire light bar lighting up when I hit the turn signal so I cut out the connector and hardwired it to the trailer harness. That had 5 wires while the lightbar had 4. The wires I hooked it up to had a seperate brake wire from the parking light wire. I was wondering how I could run the brake wire with the parking light wire without having my regular taillights light up full brightness. Could I use a diode on the wires to prevent flow backwards into the wires? Any help is appreciated.

You'd have to do some math, but yes you could use a diode. Be advised that most diodes have a voltage drop across them, although not much it could affect your light bar.

Why do you want the light bar to be on full brightness while your park lights are on? Doesn't that defeat the principle of having extra brake lighting on the rear of the truck?

I just wanted the light bar to light up with the brake lights. But if I connected the red brake wire up when the running lights are on my main taillights brightened up.
