Harbor Freight is having a parking lot sale March 6-8, 2026.

There's some good things in there including jack's and jack stands. The welding table I want is on sale for $130. The Apache Rifle Case I have on my adventure rack for storage is on sale for $100.

It's a great time to take advantage of Harbor Freight.

Harbor Freight Apache Cases for overlanding
I really wanted HF to have a parking lot sale last year when I was wanting one of those rifle cases. I had to pay full price. I keep my cot and some other camping gear in there. Their cases are great for overlanding / adventure travel / camping gear.

I'd love to pick up 2 of those cases for my roof rack. I would have to move my solar panel. But the added storage would be worth it. I'll have to see where my money is then.

Best part of the parking lot sales is the open box clearance stuff with the orange tags, I have so much junk unless I start a new random project and need something specific the open box stuff for cheap is usually a good go to...

It's been several years since I went to a parking lot sale. I'll have to keep an eye open for the orange tags.

Sometimes it's very limited other times the whole store is covered with tables of random stuff... I got the Titanium MIG 170 for $125 once, Unlimited 200 for I think $175 (sold that to a friend for $200, he was happy and still uses it like 6 years later, saved $600!), Inverter plasma cutter for $125, a bunch of my Bauer tools for like 40% off, 4" belt sander for $25... got bit once when I bought a battery in a box that was labeled wrong but I was still in the parking lot when I found out and they refunded me..

I don't like paying full price unless I really need it :)

I have mixed feelings on harbor freight improving their product lines and cleaning up the stores the last few years. It’s a much nicer experience inside and they definitely have some nicer tools to choose from. But sometimes I miss the days of being able to walk in and buy a cheap tool that was good enough for the once in a blue moon use case, using a 20% off coupon that was freely available.

I've never purposely waited for a parking lot sale but have happened on them by coincidence. Never really paid much attention. I will now though.
I do watch for the ITC sales. Their tools are decent. Their electronics stuff I'm a little leery of and usually get the extended warranty (depending on the complexity and price of the item).

On the other hand I feel they are moving in to fill the void of Sears/Craftsman which was my go-to for tools when they were around.

Yep - there's definitely value in what they've become too.

Very accurate - I use amazon crap for the once in a blue moon tool, and then HF for things that I'm using but not often enough to justify getting a "real" tool. Love my finicky HF portable band saw, would be scared to know what the amazon alternative would be. Got my electrical connector pliers from amazon though, just cheap crap but not likely to fail either given how little I use them
