Hello, I have a 94 Ranger with a supercharged 4.0ohv. I was thinking about using the Moates Quarter Horse and the Binary Editor to tune it but I see they don't support my ECU which has a code of HAG0. I was wondering if anyone had a copy of a strategy file I could use with this combo on an HGA0 ECU. Thanks in advance for any input.

Most of your tuners are for obd2. For obd1 systems, which are not flashable, you need to get a custom chip burned, which piggy backs the ecu...

Well the Quarter Horse works on both obd1 and obd2. It plugs into the j3 port and allows you to change/datalog all the stock sensors. Im looking for the strategy file, which is what "translates" the info from the Quarter Horse/Binary Editor into something the ecu can understand.

That's good info to know. I'm a little familiar with OBD2 tuning, but haven't had much hands on with obd1 since I've swapped everything I own to OBD2. Let us know what you find, I'm interested...

Yeah I'm learning too. lol I thought about swapping to obd2 but it would actually cost about the same for the tuning stuff. So I figured might as well just keep obd1 and get the Quarter Horse. I will post how it goes when I get the tuning stuff and try it out. Gotta save up some $$ first.

I'll see if I can dig it up, but my Ranger had the same PCM code, so I've at least got the name of a definition file somewhere. Did you buy the supercharged truck or build it?

I bought it, It came with a Superchips custom burnt chip in it but I have no idea what the tune is and would like to use the Quarter Horse to do a more complete tune.

I want to see a picture. I bet $10 you bought my old truck. If you did, I can put you in contact with the guy who burned that chip, assuming he's still in business.

That'd be cool. Here are some pics of the truck.

There she is! Same tires and everything! I miss that little beast... I'll get an e-mail address and phone numner PMed shortly.

Did the guy you bought it from give you all the details on what the truck has? Like axles, injectors, and whatnot?

he said it has a dana 35 with limited slip up front and explorer 8.8 with limited slip in back and 4.10 gears and that it had larger injectors and a higher flow fuel pump. Think that's about all.

Let's see, you have 30lb injectors, MAF is for a 1999 E-series van with a 5.4 or 6.8, a 62mm throttle body, and a 165° thermostat that *may* be slightly cobbled into place...

Reviving from the dead, monsterchuck, do you have any info/pics/details of this build? Specifically the adapter for the tb to charger inlet, and other mods done to fit? I'm interested...
