Ok guys I got the truck today. Ill post pics soon of the truck. How hard would it be to make a 2 gas tank ranger? I have another tank and fule pump just not sure what I would need to door what all ill need.

They are ultra rare, but the early Rangers had an option of dual tank. If you look at the beds of any rangers, (even the new ones) there is a small hump for the second filler neck behind the wheel well.

If you can find a dual tank Ranger in the junkyard (good luck with that) you could snag the bed and tank/ harness switchs and tank etc and maybe get it working in your ranger, and not have to deal with the body work for the fuel tank door either.

Your most likely route will be find an f150 with a dual tank setup and grab the harness and pump and dash switch assembly. Not sure what to use for a second tank, maybe a B2 tank? and then fab everything in.

to my way of thinking, a 20 gal tank from a supercab Ranger is plenty enough tank for most excursions, and the added hassle of getting all of that stuff installed and working is just not worth it...

It seems like I remember seeing bedsides and tanks for the dual tank setups in LMC truck, not sure if they still carry them though. You would still need the rest of the stuff that 97rangerXLT just mentioned.

Don't forget removing the spare tire mounting assembly from under the truck bed to make room for the rear fuel tank.

If I remember correctly the 84 Ranger I had the front tank was 17 gallons and the rear tank was 15 gallons. Problem is finding that hardware now, these dual tank trucks are getting harder and harder to find.

What I was thinking was putting my extra tank on the passanger side of the truck. There is really no point in doing it other then to be different. I was just wanting to no if it was gonna be hard or not. Ill get pics of my new truck up when I can parents didn't pay cable bill so I have no internet. I am using my phone and it has a hard time posting pics. The truck has 60/40 seats power windows and locks. It has a sun roof and the only rust is around the winsheild. I no the frame is in great shape on the new truck and I will be selling it or will be scraped anything I have left over will be for sale I don't wanna scrap the extra stuff if anyone needs it. Soon ill be getting parts posted for you guys and hopefull ill have pics of my new truck up to

I have 2 saddle bags, BII tank tucked up and twin 5er's on the swing out. Sometimes fuel is sparse here, sometimes its 12-15 bucks a gallon if you make it there and you better have a fuel/water seperator to boot.
