They had optional added lights for the first gen trucks, how did they do the switch for them? Something added under the dash or in the trim like they did for the added BII switches?

-under dash switch

Would you happen to have any pics?

I am making an underdash panel for mine, the intent is to make it somewhat factory looking in color and maybe shape (I don't want sharp edges on mine)

I scored some off a 88' bronco II, It's a full harness that connect to the terminal under hood.

I got an 87 stx hirider as parts way back when. IIRC there was a set of 4 lighted switches mounted under the dash drivers side. I kept the switches but have no idea where they are now...buried somewhere.

-what is shown by Assassynation is correct....
bezel, a early to mid 80s switch with a harness that ran out the
firewall around the rh inner fender to a mounted relay, down the core support
across the bottom of the support from rh to left lamp....

Thanks for the help guys.

I had it pictured in my head differently, going to be hard to mesh what I want to do into looking like that.

If you need more pics, I can take a few more if you'd like.

Also, if anyone has a set of first gen OEM driver/fog lights laying around collecting dust I would be more than happy take them off your hands.

No thanks, I was hoping they would have angled sides or something.

The switch is neat but for my panel with two switches and three gauges there isn't much to go off to make it look like something Ford actually stuck under the dash.

Here's the Gen 2 switches, from the brochure

Thanks!

I remember seeing something more like that a JY but it has been a long time ago.

Thats how my '91 STX is setup. One switch for the lights on the rally bar, the other for the lights on the brush guard. Of course the lights & brush guard have disappeared from my truck over the last ~25 years :annoyed: and all thats left is the bare rally bar & switches under the dash. If I remember tomorrow I'll snag a picture.

Also my '88 GT has the same switch that Assassynation posted.

Can someone repost the Gen I switches? Or confirm / debunk these?20210118_140710.jpg

These are on ebay right now... more for a second gen I think though.

What I see in my parts book:

Play minehunter with the prefix (something like E3TZ and then the number in the pic and you might turn up something. Play with the number, the 3 in E3TZ means it was designed in '83, so if it was updated in '84 it would be an E4TZ etc. BUT if it wasn't designed for the Ranger it might not be TZ... the joy of Ford part numbers. If you need help don't keep it to yourself :icon_thumby:

I can confirm that my '88 STX has the same sticker in the same spot, but a one piece switch bracket. The switches were gone when I got the truck. I'd say yours are legit Ford parts.
