Gt-12

NCMP's not far from you there, is it? you can open it WIDE open there without any consequences!

would be nice if they had a highspeed oval though, not sure if they do...

NCMP?:icon_confused:

nevermind...i googled it.

sorta close.....i guess.

it's an hour to the ferry,7 hours to rupert, then about 6 hours to prince george.

but remember, this is a street rod,not a racecar.if it looks and sounds cool....that's good enough for me.

You gotta test it out to make sure the speedo you put in actually reflects the cars capabilities though

ahh, i just think northern bc, how big could it be?

it's roughly 8 hour drive from vancouver (right at the pacific) to the alberta border, so i figure if you head east from anywhere in bc, it shouldn't be much more than that... lol

you know Gwaii, you have to calibrate the speedo, as they often aren't accurate at high speed, when they are at low speed... care for any more justification? i've got an app for the iphone that might just help...

ya,that might be an idea...especially for this one.

so i go down to look at the car(been at work all day)and see this....

that's oil,and a fair bit of it.i'm thinking WTF?

i wasn't planning on tearing into this engine.

so i get the flashlight, fire it up(it flashes up instantly, didn't even have to pump the gas)and start searching.

this oil tee at the top rear of the engine had the oil pressure sender on it originally.it was removed by the original owner to use onb the engine he put in the car,so i just stuck a bolt in the hole to keep crap out.that was four years ago,i forgot about it.oil was seeping out from it,not a big deal to fix.it needs an oil sender there anyway.

Kinda reminds me of when I rebuilt the 340 in my dad's 73 Duster a few years back. Just got it all back in the car, wrestled the long tube headers in there (what a chore on a Mopar) and bolted them in. We just poured the coolant into the rad and all of a sudden we had coolant pouring out the collectors on the headers. That was a WTF moment. I forgot that the front and rear exhaust manifold bolts on the heads go right into coolant passages....scared the hell out of me for a minute. Nothing a little thread sealant didn't fix...

lol apparently the 302 does the same? never had that problem but the rear bolts do NOT like to come out!

ran into the same thing with a 440 i built for a guy some years ago.i was pretty surprised to find the header bolts openned into the coolant passage.

So if you go to change the oil on a mopar or a 302 and you see antifreeze mixed with the oil you may not have a blowen headgasket it could be leaking from the bolt hole into the exhaust port and combustion chamber. NICE.

well,with a mopar anyway.that's actually not the case with a 302.

Wow, no movement on this thread in 3.5 days? Did someone kidnap you Gwaii?

must be that "work" thing interfering again.....
