Well, here I am. A pround owner of a used Ranger.
I bought the thing two years ago, and amazingly, just stumbled across this site.

My truck is an oddball, just like the owner.

It's a '94, 2.3L 4 cyl, 4x4, and a stick. Just to top it all off it's purple with a teal green bed cap. I jokingly call it the "Flying Eggplant." The best part? I bought it only 125,000 on the odo. It now has 152,000.

The only modification I've made is a set of Firestone Destinaton A/T's.

I guess it was serendipity that I got this truck, because it fits me like a glove and for what I use it for, it's perfect.

If you don't need the site then you're that much happier with the Ranger...I HAD to find this site when I bought my first one...it was problematic from day one...but now...it is in the junkyard...lol...but the new one has all the good parts...

Glad you like it...they are great little trucks...and the 2.3 can go a long way...

I do, but a bit of weight in the back and 35 years of driving experience helps too...I've managed to only get stuck once with the Ranger...and that was when I tried to drive through a foot of snow in the driveway...

Fair enough. I've seen plenty of people in 4WD's in snow storms, They're usally the first ones in the ditch or on a snowbank.
For me, 4WD is just another tool to get you home.

This is very true...too much confidence in the 4x4 can easily lead to going too fast for the road conditions...but, fortunately, there are quite a few who understand the limitations...

I've got a 4x4 Zuki, and I've used the 4WD maybe five times in five years...it's not needed most of the time...but that's just regular on-road driving...off-road is another story in itself...which, I guess, is why they invented 4x4 in the first place...not so some dorks can show us how fast they can end up in the ditch...
