Random pictures from work, it is too ugly outside for much picture taking.

My 8.8 swap in progress.

It takes these motion pictures too... mainly why I got it.:D

My high tech mount... the handlebar kit was just a tad too big for a 3/4" bolt (biggest I had on hand) but the rollbar kit did work ok on one of the nuts. It worked but there was something not quite as tight as it could have been.

It is a GoPro Hero2 Motorsports edition from Jegs, I also got the handlebar and rollbar mounting kits. I should have gotten the LCD backpack when I got the camera, I figured I would get that locally but I have yet to turn one up in the real world.

Found a neat case at Harbor Freight.

That's a pretty cool video. The truck sounds good too!

Thanks :icon_thumby:

Somebody hasn't priced mud tires recently. :icon_twisted:

I can wail one pretty good, for what power and tires it has it hooks pretty hard. It isn't a real whoopie 302 either, it is fun to drive at any rate though. It had been sitting since noon at work and I just pulled up by the door to put my stuff on it, so the choke was still on obviously and blocking the 4bbl so I couldn't get too carried away. I didn't want to either because I didn't fully trust my camera clamped on just the nut.

One thing I never would have figured was how hard the rear suspension was loaded just going up a hill. I can't imagine what it is doing when I actually take off hard...

I am trying to figure out a way to mount it up front so I can watch the front suspension move around too, maybe find somewhere to make the suspension move around more also.

I finally tracked down an LCD backpack at Cabela's of all places. It came in handy sighting it in at my front axle. I had to use the enclosed back on the camera due to really bad wind noise with the camera being backwards... it seemed to turn it into something of a tuning fork for the entire truck.

It is amazing how truely independant the front suspension is, I would have figured one wheel hitting a bump would have more of an effect than they do.

We all knock the twin i beams, but when watching a video like this (last one), it really show's how it all works together in harmony, for a not as terrible as solid axle ride lol.

Neat video, and that reminds me where is a steering dampener on a dana 28?

IMO a TTB is a compromise, it is limited by the axleshafts. TIB with its longer arms would have less camber change going over bumps.

Still pretty impressive to me how they work together yet don't work together.

AFAIK TTB axles never came from the factory with a steering damper. Mine is stock aside from the Explorer coil springs and Skyjacker shocks.

I just found it odd that there is no dampener, none on my B2, nor have I seen one in the manual or parts listings.

I don't think many trucks come with one. I have had mine 11.5 years and counting and haven't missed it.

you need to hook up 4 of those big tires from the first pictures to the ranger then go rock crawling.

If only it was that easy :D

I don't know if my axleshafts could even hold the wieght of the tire vertically. :shok:
