Got Issues

the other day i was coming back from the store and i came through a big turn and i down shifted into 3rd and the truck acted like it wanted to stall out and the engine started running a 100 mph and the speedo only read in the 30s and it want go over 35 or so and whines like crazy. its a 1993 2.3 ranger with a 5spd. i think its the clutch but i really aint sure. i have pressure at the pedal and it shifts gears fine it just want go over like 35. thanks in advance.

Sounds like your clutch plate blew apart on you. Get under the truck and look at the bellhousing on the drivers side. Take the rubber oval shaped plug out and see if there is alot of clutch debris in there.
