I found a donor.
A 1991 Explorer 4 door with A4LD and 4x4.
Any last words of advice ?

cool,it should go together no problem, its even about the same color.though i was told there are some wiring differences(something to do with the heater area, beyond the cannon plug repin).maybe the thing to do will be to integrate only the cpu/engine harnesses.

have you found EVTM's yet? i think i could have easily used my ranger EVTM to make sense of what to integrate into the old 2.9l harness looking at it in hind sight. but i horse traded for a ranger harness before assembly and i was recovering from a shattered knee so i wanted it to drop together
you should see the looks a guy gets in the junkyard pulling a motor on crutches.i skipped the cane in favor of leaning on the fenderwell, lol.

maybe just buy the 90 EVTM for the sho swap and i'll help with my 91 EVTM if there are any differences that stop you?

remember to check for sunk valves(i was told by a local machinist that cracks imbetween valves in the chamber is what does it) and its not a bad idea to screw in a cheap mech. oil gauge too in place of the dummy unit for a quick look at oil pressure if you run it in the junkyard.

Thanks again.
I have the 90 EVTM as well as the complete Helms shop set.
I may get the 91 EVTM soon.
I have a hard enough time without crutches.
I'm some what adept at wiring and am comfortable with it.
I have a 90 Nissan PU that I added PW, PL, PM, lited visors, int wipers and AC.
I also added PS but there was no wiring of course.

woah did i see a BAP or MAP sensor on the cowl panel? i heard some had it but have never seen one.

i wonder if you could use it for boosting?
