Got a job offer

Well, an update on the job. I officially started yesterday, pretty much means I'm working a few more hours a week and am getting paid more, doing the same type of stuff, still getting trained on the CNC.

I e-mailed my college adviser the other day and asked if there would be any way to get some sort of certificate or AAS, he e-mailed me back saying that they'll get me an AAS in Engineering Technology. Also, he said that I can take the online classes that I need (only a few), and get a BS in Industrial Technology. I gotta talk to my boss tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure the company will pay for any schooling, so that will be nice.

Worked out pretty good this summer I guess, got a full time job, am getting an associates, and will get my BS in a year or two (depending on the classes I need) from online classes :yahoo:

Cool! You lucked out!

Looked over the classes I need, looks like I'll need 8 more to get my BS (according to the schools website). Now I just gotta talk to the big boss man tomorrow, make sure they'll pay for it.

Good stuff! Hope you can work and get the training you need for the BSc (we only call it BS when we don't pass)

Mark, you're the exception, not the rule.

It's a lot harder to go back once you have a life, perhaps a mortgage, marriage, and/or kid with a $15,000 daycare bill. Even without those, Jspafford's experience is the norm.

Hmmm...didn't see this for some reason...but you're right...I was saying it's best to take advantage of the opportunity to finish school if possible...

I know what it's like to have kids/mortgage, and all that stuff...just not first hand...I do, however, 'have a life'...lol...it's a different set of responsibilities that most people would not endure for sure, but, as they say....somebody has to do it...

Job offer. I was thinking, yeah had those before...

Bt you mean labor. Yeah thas what I call a job threat. More power to you though. Got a job o nce with a juggler on the boardwalk. Hes doing these bowlin pins, whipping them up in the air and shit. Hes throwing them out once in a while and I'm supposed to throw them back in--like to a count--one and two and three and catch and five and six and seven and throw and nine and ten and elevn and this chick walks by and BAM hits me right in the nose with the pin. After that, you cna keep that job stuff. I was like, where's OSHA?

Lucky it didn't hit you somewhere else, otherwise your wrench wouldn't be the only thing that's bent :icon_rofl:

Yeah... definitely finish your school. i've seen too many people who have done what you are doing and something happens. then they dont have a leg to stand on. finishing school is something i would do. esp when theyre gonna pay for it.

I'm 37 with 9 kids, and back in school. REALLY not the norm. Finish the degree any way possible, even if it is while working.

That looks like the bathroom where I work.....

If I had 9 kids I would get 8 PhDs back to back then work on a law degree, then go to med school, then barber colege, chef school and then Chinese chopstick school and hopefully by then everyone would have moved out and I could get some quiet.

You'd be like a one-stop-shop then. Come in for a checkup, get a haircut, and a gourmet meal.
