got a free 351

Anything free is good, Bro...as long as it does not cost you anything to get rid of it!!!! lol I had a buddy get a free 351W once...it ran great when he got it and then he had to pay someone to take it away one day...nobody wanted it!! He traded it and had to spend money to get the 351 off his back. This was back in '76. Back then, everybody wanted the 390 Hipo or a 429 or if you were lucky...the 427 side oiler...which I still have one brand new in a crate. It is not for sale. One day I will put it in the '67 Mustang Fastback I still have not put back together. Yea..one day!!!

you still have a brand new 427 side oiler!!? :icon_surprised: those are like 20k + used

ill post some pics when i get back over there. if its what you say it might be, it looks like the ranger might have OBA at some point. :yahoo:

Post a pic of the valve covers.

you can kind of see the pump in the bottom corner

Windsor, and OBA is yours if you want it.

hey buddy oh pal how ya doing thats a real nice engine you have there dontcha know :)

I always look at the coolant neck.

If it's going into the timing cover, it's a 351c/351m/400. The 351m/400 coolant neck area is taller than on the 351c. If it goes into the lower intake manifold, then you know it's a Windsor or something else. 351c/351m/400 are dry lower intakes.

well i might have already gotten rid of the 351. gonna trade it for an intake manifold and maybe some other stuff for the 460, depending on what kind of manifold and what type of stuff he comes up with.

dang I was hoping it was a modified, i could always use a spare lol
(like my 2.3T, 4.0 OHV, and M50d)
