Might buy it too.

I'll let you guy's know what I decide.

Basically it's a Cherokee, being sold for parts or fix. I'll be leaning towards the parts side, depending on the condition it's in and what's wrong with it. I'm only interested in the tires (I'm told they're newish) and the battery, assuming it has one.

If the tires are crap I'm not touching it. But hey, maybe I'll get lucky and it will have some really nice tires on it. :D

The plan if I buy it--> Tow it home, swap tires, swap batteries, put up for sale sign. Hopefully I'll have it gone before I've owned it for a week.

If you want the one I am getting for $100, you can have it =P, I just want 1 thing, it not to be crushed or junked.

How much is it? pics? does she run? If you go cheap enough, i might buy for a DD, very important I get one soon

:worthless:

The jeep (assuming it runs decent) will go places you wish your ranger could:icon_twisted:

Sometimes I still miss mine, then again it was a 4.0 with a 5spd :yahoo:

Just checked it out, it's a 1989 Cherokee 4x4 with a strait 6/auto. The guy says it runs great, just needs a jump from sitting but it wont go out of first gear. It's a jersey vehicle with barely any rust, but no title since it's in jersey somewhere.

Oh, and I bought it. For 100 dollars. Pics to come when I get it home.

dana 30 solid axle swap time,

RUNS GREAT!! Can a mod change the title of this thread or should I make a new one?

If you can change it, I'd like it to say "Koda's Jeep." like I have for my Zx2 thread.

So now you have 4 cars and you obtained them in less than 5 months? o_0

Did some searching on Jersey titles, and it looks like I can't get one since I'm in New York. I'm going to try to contact the guy's son and get either the origional title or have him get me one and I'll pay the fees + a little extra, assuming I get it running.

Anyway.. I said I would get pictures and I'm a man of my word.

Here's how we towed it home. It's about a 4 foot length of pipe with a chain. Scary as hell, but I have balls of steel.

The Jeep in my driveway, still hooked up to the Highboy.

The reasons why I bought it. Two batteries and decent tires! One battery doesn't work and one of the tires is weather checked. But still worth 100 dollars.

Less miles than my Ranger.

Couldn't figure out how to start it. Looks like the starter is wired to a pushbutton. The little silver one under the column.

No idea what the hell this is. Some duct tape cobjob.

The engine bay. Strait 6 FTW.

Minimal rust, this is the only rust I could find, other side matches.

Not a bad looking Jeep, but it needs some paint.

And the best part.. SHE RUNS!

Nice! and my Jeep is next! I will race ya! well, when I get mine runnin, haha!

I just need to send the money over, go grab it, and its mine. Makin plans for next weekend, just need my dad's okay though >.>

Holy crap! Jeep has a ton new dents I bet, same for the Ranger and Zx2. Hail the size of golf balls just smashed on on all of them. Jesus.

Looked at it a little more today, I have cruise and tilt wheel. I need to replace the cruise lever because it's so faded all you can read is "Cru s " and I don't know what the switches or anything do. I could figure it out, but I'd still like it to look good.

The wipers work, but they're a tad worn out. I'm going to see if I can get them to move normal, same with the windows. Also, the blinkers stay on instead of blinking, but that might be a problem with the front bulbs not being in. I'll get all that figured out when I get the title situation in order. Regardless, right now I'm working on cleaning it up. Even without a title a clean vehicle will always fetch a better price than a dirty one.

As for "future" mods, I'm considering Rusty's 3" kit along with either the pre-runner or stinger XJ bumper on the site. Oh, and a decal for the back window that say's "My @ss is in a Jeep but my He@rt is in a Ranger." Eventually I want to fab a rear tire mount on a swing away, I think it would be cheaper to fab myself, since the ones I looked at were 1K + and I wouldn't require a bender for it. Tires, would probably be hankook dynapro's because of the price and a local retailer.

:D

looks good man i like it. i wish i could find one in the future for wheeling

Hopefully I'll be able to make this one a daily driver/weekend rig by next spring. All the minor stuff I'll take care of now, and the trans will be done in spring. That should give me enough time to save the money to fix it up right. I already have a good idea of how I want it painted. I'm going to redo it in gloss black, but I want the bumpers to be in red.. maybe. I have to photoshop it once I get it all put togeather. I'm still in the planning stage though, since I don't have a title. Right now the build budget is around 1000 dollars, including everything I need to fix it up. That's just to get it to a good daily driver, another 1000 would have to be tacked on if I want to mod it. Honestly it's not a bad price, since the starting cost is only $100.
