well we will be in the motor home going down and stopping in areas.....but ya hot...heat aaaa....what is the coldest temp down there that people start to were pants and coats?

Aw come on now :) you gotta stay for a while to get a feel for it. Going on 22 years myself :icon_twisted:

(and yes its pretty toasty right now.)

dude i did not relize you were from ther...my post whore rival from the last forum:icon_thumby:..how far are you from the seguin area?:bye:

I live in San Antonio about 20 min. away from Seguin. If you need help finding the truck (getting there that is) I could help you out. I would look but it'd be too tempted to purchase one... can't do that these days. A/C is a must pretty much. Things will start cooling off in a month possibly but it'll still be blazing hot during the day for the most part. However, I still wear jeans/pants all year around pretty much :dunno:. Good luck with your hunt.

Google tells me about 300 miles... I'm just about due east of San Antonio. Looks like your going to be in a nice part of TX, San Antonio is a reaaaally nice city if its the same as I remember it from when I was a kid :)

When ya git there, be sure to try out one of the South's great delicacies- possum on the half-shell. There ain't no place in the world that knows how to fix armadillo like Texas.

Whats this got to do with Rio Linda?

The resnicks in that town are a bit like the ones in Rio Linda, CA.

Why are you bashing on Rio Linda? I waterski out there. The water is a little shetchy and I am not sure what grows out there :bad: but hey its still fun.

sound like i will have fun....i was going to bring my car....but $600+ to turn my car into a dingy...ferget it...lol...just meens i will have to look out of a gen 1 ranger with a 2.9 short bed 4x4 or a diesle 4x4 short bed :)...no longer in the rust belt!!!

Texas is great man. A lot of us here are friendly, and then there are some that aren't. So what if we all have guns here? What's the big deal? I don't, but I know how to shoot. There aren't any more crimes here than NY or Washington, especially.

The MOIST heat is the bitch. I was talking to a grad student the other day...it gets 125* in Egypt & Sudan, but it's all dry and not bad. It's the humidity in Texas that will get ya. Sliding rear windows and a a 45+ mph A/C is sufficient...

Best buds from Seguin. Nice place, a lil smaller than the cty that butts against it, but a lot bigger than other small Texas towns. Nobody wants old 80's rangers here...good luck!

I'm about 2-3 hrs from you. A 3 hour drive isn't bad...you can drive an entire day in one straight direction and STILL not be out of the damn state. When a destination becomes 4 hours or longer, then it's a "drive" (well, to me anyways). More spacious than Maine, less clustered than the NE area, and a li'l bit browner since we're closer to the border. Oh, and there's people here that are crazzzzzzzy and in love with Texas. You'll see/understand later...

Look us all up sometime when ya get here...

I wish we had a Texas emoticon... :icon_cheers:

Texas has Rangers

If you get to Northeast Texas looking for a truck, give me a yell.
(Longview, Marshall area)
I have many first gens spotted for sale around here.
I have just found a 4X4 87 with no motor that may be a deal.
And a couple other good body but bad motor deals.
Even found a ext cab 2.9 auto with a wiring fire...truck is free...title is 100 bucks!

If I had more time I would have snapped these up.
I bought my first Ranger a year ago and worked on it for 4 days.
At a gas station a fellow offered a grand more than I had in it and suddenly I had no truck.
I have had 6 Rangers since then.
Rust has been a problem on 1 of them.
And this was on the top and hood of a black STX that the sun killed the paint.
