Godzilla vs the Powerboost vs Ranger.

I really want to upgrade to the latest body style F150...but for what I want, a crewcab 6.5 foot bed XLT is 60 effing thousand. I paid 39,500 for my 2013 new. What the hell happened?

Yeah ... The sticker on that powerboost....

It's painful.

If I drove it in Drive and done more highway I could get better. But as you can see by my average speed most my driving is stop and go or off road. That's milage from purchase of truck. Never set a trip or anything View attachment 69385
That's awesome. My 2.9 did around 14 hiway on 33,s and all around average was 9. The v8 was actually better in same conditions. But when working exteriors out of it... idling all day was 3 to 4.

Damn impressive. . Glad you didn't reset it.

That’s seems about right...
Sticker on my ‘20 F-150 XLT crew, 6.5’ bed was $61K.

yeah....my powerboost was 75 k......but damn its a BAMF......

bit of an update incoming.

two speed rear end? sounds like a good plan, esp if its a 2wd and you have a need for low range. Have a switch right on the gearshift lever even.

Is that a flex?

No weight issues with Godzilla.

It's really making its way into everything.

It's getting more and more tempting to add my 68 F-100 to that everything list. It's already got a FE, so the Godzilla really isn't out of place. By the time I (re)build the FE, add an overrdive and source a 2 speed transfer case, the cost would probably be about the same as a 7.3 with manual trans and transfer case. Better reliability, effeciency, and power out of the 7.3 and much better parts availability for future support.

Flex? nope, thats my ‘94 ranger. I thought a flex only came with a automatic? not that you couldn’t somehow convert it. Id love to make the ‘11 3.0 escape a manual.

Flex as flexing to show off your muscles.

In this case I'm asking if you are flexing and showing off your 2 speed axle switch.

ok- lol. I totally misunderstood you. That switch is actually for a dual air horn, The factory horn quit some time ago. It was quicker to get a picture of that rather than a actual two-speed switch on a old grain truck gear shift lever.

My 2020 F350 crew cab long box 4x4 lariat with the 7.3 (kinda dislike Godzilla) with 3:73 gears, got 17mpg going 65 mph going to the cabin, which is staight level ground for 180 miles.
My new 2022, basically the same truck, with 4:30 gears gets 16mpg on the same route. I get 8mpg pulling my 17,000lb 5th wheel on the same route.

...7.3 (kinda dislike Godzilla)...

I hear you. Unfortunately, Ford decided to reuse that displacement instead of making it 7.(something else). I've got the other 7.3 so I need some way to differentiate them. I may not love the Godzilla naming, but atleast people know which 7.3 I'm talking about.

That is true. Instead of having to say 7.3 gas or Godzilla they could come up with something more clever.

Wish they woulda gave it 7.5L as a nod to the 460. IMO woulda made more sense from a continuation standpoint.

But atleast its not like the 5.0 where people think its the same windsor blocked 5.0 everyone knows.
