That's the truth! Cars today right off the showroom for can be 12 sec cars and get twice the mileage and 1/3 the emmisons.

And most cars now don't look nearly as good, are made of plastic, and are starting to need a laptop to fix it yourself instead of a wrench. Just sayin' lol.

gas in jersey is actually more, and its full service because the state doesnt trust ppl to be able to pump their own gas.

Actually its less than other states around. By about 10 to 15 cents cheaper per gallon. And you're right about the state not trusting people pumping their own gas.

We charged an extra 30 cents per gallon for full service.

Before I left work, the cashier said that there was a very good chance of running out of gas tonight. Construction is starting on the new bays tomorrow too.

Back in the day my grandmother would have them check the oil. Obviously it was a quart low oil still in heads. When the attendant would say it's a quart low do you want to buy a quart. She would say theres some in the trunk you can use one of those.

I didn't like NJ just because I had to hand my credit card to somebody I don't know to pump gas.

Question to the old-timers: Back in the day, how many gas stations were full-service? Was it just about every one, roughly half, or...? And till about what time did they start becoming less common?
