getting it figured out.

ok so i think i have it figured out from my last post, I pulled the codes and it was telling me throttle position sensor. I changed it but i dont think i have it set right because it doesnt want to run right. How do you check to see if it is set right and if it isnt how do you adjust it? Thanks in advance for any replies!

well.......

well, i thought i had it figured out. finally found out how to adjust the throttle position sensor and it did make the truck run better but the surging is still the same, cant get any speed to it because it cuts out like it isnt getting gas while driving. I just dont know what else to do, it idles great, it just wont drive. Unfortunatly idling isnt going to get me to work......Any insight? Anybody?

am i maybe posting this in the wrong place because i noticed that there have been people view the two posts that ive made but i havent really had much for replies. I dont know if im posting in the wrong forum or what?

Your posting in the right place it just takes time to get responses sometimes - have you checked/reset your ignition timing - when it cuts out does it shut off/quit running - it could be ignition module or coil

i did check the timing(as in the timing belt) and it is right where it is supposed to be and it doesnt die or anything it just cuts out and surges REALLY bad. I did put a new coil on it because i thought that might be it and it didnt make any difference at all. im just totally stumped and at my wits end with this truck. I love the truck but it is running me out of money. I listed most of the other things i put on it in my previous post. Thanks for looking....

Usually a surging idle is a sign of unmetered air entering the intake - check vaccuum lines and is your truck speed density or mass air controled it could be a bad map sensor or the mass airflow sensor may need to be cleaned - if you have one !!??

solution found! I took the gas lines off on the in line fuels pump, one side at a time and when I took the line off after the pump it got gas, then i took it off before the in line pump and not a drop, thats right not one drop. So that in the tank pump was brand new just shucked out 500 bucks getting new tank and all that put in so i took it back to them and said told them that I thought maybe the pump they put in the tank was a bad one, they checked it out and there is filter type canister thing on the framerail between the in the tank pump and the inline pump and it was plugged up tight. Got that fixed and now the truck runs great, probably didnt need to change the motor the first time around, glad i didnt decide to do it again! thanks for all your suggestions, i cant believe it was something so simple to fix that was causing me all that trouble!
