so i remember reading a post about someone getting his teeth pulled a while back and now i have to go get my wisdom teeth pulled on monday, and i was wondering what exactly do they do. do they just pull and yank or is there some nice process to it? and also what do i get put on after its all done?:annoyed:

depends on the tooth, some wisdom teeth grow in sideways and they have to cut and stitch you up, mine came out stright, hurt like hell for a few hours afterwards tho. they pull on it with pliars and pry it with this ice pick looking thing. its well worth it if you are having pain from the teeth, i held off with the pain for a year and then got it done and was so mad i waited all that time

sounds like a boatload of fun!

its really not that bad, believe me within a few hours you will be glad you did it. just make sure you follow the directions for the care, like dont drink thru a straw or smoke cigarettes, or you will be in a world of pain with dry socket

I had all 4 done at once, they put me under so I don't know how they did it but it didn't hurt I went out to dinner and ate normal that night...When I was a kid I had alot of teeth pulled, I was awake for all of those, I would only feel pressure when they were pulling the teeth out.

I just had one done because it started to ache a little bit. It had pushed into the tooth in front of it. Just went back for a follow up yesterday, I'm probably going to have to pull the one in front of it as well because of the damage. Of my 3 remaining wisdom teeth, one of them is sideways and has not come through the gums, so it'll need surgery to come out (It isn't bothering me yet, but it's coming out anyways.) The two on the other side are in, straight, and have straight roots, but I'm gonna have them pulled after the other side heals up and be done with them. By the time they start to hurt, damage has been done to surrounding areas already.

I had all four of mine pulled at once as well as 4 bicuspids. The doctor put me out to do it because the bone of my bottom jaw had grown over one of the wisdom teeth. It hurt for a couple of weeks and then I got braces.

When I had mine pulled, I was put under. Woke up on a bed and then rolled off it. Its not a good thing not being able to walk or stand for an hour. Not to mention the blood I was spitting up. But after that day, I was fine. Got to eat all the baked potatos I wanted.

I got one thats got to come out. Im 47 and up pops this wisdom tooth. not all the way mind you just half, and with a cavity. Ive been puttin it off because I play a saxophone and they said no sax for a month, Ive never went without sax for a month:icon_hornsup: something about infection :dunno:

I got all 4 pulled at once when I was a pup of about 19 or 20. They had to do a bit of cutting into the the gums, then they whacked them with a hammer and chisel to break them loose from their twisted roots. I was not put under. In fact, I was standing inspection in the gun park at Kanehoe Bay 15 minutes later in the hot, hot sun with a mouth full of gauze and all the sympathy you could muster from a first sergeant that had his entire squad mowed down on a lonely buffalo trak in Vietnam.

Lovely.
