I have a 1994, 4x4, 2.3, 5spd manual. 120,000 miles. I just got it. After I fixed a charging issue, I went over the truck for any further issues. I found leaf spring shackles and hangers on the drivers side need replaced and it needs tires.

The truck runs and drives great. The sparkplugs look original however, so I'm going to replace those as well. I changed the air filter and engine oil. All Motorcraft. I'm going to be doing the rest of the fluids here shortly.

My question:What else would you check over/replace if this was your truck?

Plug wires is a definite. PCV as well

Timing belt? How are the brakes and the front end?

id do all 4 rear spring hangers, not just the drivers side, sure just 1 or 2 may be bad now, but the others wont be far behind. remove the bed, makes it much easier, and you wont have to drop the fuel tank for that left front hanger.

Fuel filter? maybe headlight fluid? But seriously if they haven't changed the plugs I'd do the filter. Maybe run some seafoam.

Change tranny and diff fluid.

Ok. I'm thinking plug wires from Amazon? They seem cheapest for Motorcraft there.

I was thinking I should replace the timing belt, brakes seem ok? good? I don't know for sure really because the car I'm driving now..they are shot. So I don't know what good brakes feel like anymore.

The passenger side looks and most likely is new, while the drivers side are completely rotted out. There is damage done to the bed from the passenger side rotting out and busting through the bed.

Seafoam is on the list. I'll do that first than the fuel filter in case the seafoam kicks any varnish loose.

Change tranny and diff fluid.

That's also on the list.
