I prefer driving the truck without the cap.. the window setup on mine is the single slider on the truck, and split slider on the cap, so in the rearview I have 2 bars from the truck, and 3 from the cap, so I am looking through 5 vertical lines, and then out the slightly tinted back window.. which is a royal p.i.t.a. to keep clean of roadgrime. Plus with my stepped cap, the truck does not fit in my garage.. so like this past week when I had to do wheelbearings I had to remove the cap. It is also a bigger side exposure for wind to grab and push me around. I bought the truck with it, so do utilize it during the winter and throw it on during the summer for camping.

I thought of getting a cap flush with the roof line for when I haul things for our animal rescue but to be honest I think it would just flat bother me having it on there all the time, especially when I haul something tall. Are they easily romoved and can 1 person do it?

Unless you're on the upper end of freaking huge or the topper is aluminum, it's a pain in the ass to do by yourself without some sort of pulley system.

I figured I'd do my post of shame after looking at all these awesome trucks. I've had her since new. Sadly, there were times I wasn't that nice to it. It sat in a barn for years..I still have the insulation nest I pulled out of the tranny. The truck means more to me now that I'm older just because it was my first brand new vehicle. So little by little I've first been fixing what's been wrong with it. Than maybe later I'll get to customize a little. No hurry in it. For now and for the time to come it's work in progress and my daily drive.

I prefer not to, but I have gotten it on and off myself. If I had sawhorses or the like to place it on. Basically carry it like a canoe with my back inside it and slide it off the bedrails. Not really heavy, just awkward size and hard to keep balanced.
