I've been asking around regarding some ongoing electrical issues. And after advice and research, it looks like it might be a GEM issue. Some issues are:
horn not working (relay, horn, and steering wheel switch good), no windshield wipers, door open chime on frequently, 4x4 low engages about every other time, and no dash lights (maybe not an issue). I had read that these GEM modules are programmed for the truck. True? If so, I was wondering how specific is it? I can understand that it must be configured for 4x4 among other things. But, what if I don't have power windows and locks? Is it even as specific to VIN? I'm hoping to cruise the junkyard or flea-bay if possible to save a few buck$.
