Gears Question

Alright i have a 2000 XLT 4WD with a superlift on 35's. The problem is I have stock gears and I would like to upgrade. What gears should I get?

Depends mostly on what you're looking to do. If you plan to keep it on the road with a lot of highway driving then I'd go 4.56. If it's turning into a daily driver/off roader then I'd go with 4.88 or even 5.13 depending on how much time you plan to spend off the road.

Yup, Kelly88 nailed it. 4.56's are as high of a gear I'd want with 35's and I'll be swapping to 5.13's shortly in my truck.

I've got 4.88's, and regularly see stock mileage figures.....

How much am I looking to pay for those gears and do I need them for both front and back?

Yes, you must do both the front and rear if you want to be able to use your 4WD.
Figure around $600 for parts (both axles) and another $500-600 or so for the labor to install them.

With a 4.0L & 35s, 4.88 is the gear you'll want (and is the deepest available for your year front axle).

How hard is it to install these? Is it something I need to send into a shop or something I would be able to do?
