2 won't do and and 3 is to much!!! YOU do the math:icon_twisted:

I bought a HAND CRANK pump from the auto parts store for draining the diff, works perfect ALSO I once took my truck to quick lube and had them use MY oil, they used an electric pump to suck out the oil out of diff then they put in MY oil, took less then 10 minutes and OF COURSE I watched the whole process.:icon_thumby:

From 1996 Ford Ranger Service Manual:
Dana 35 approximate capacity: 2.9 Imperial Pints, (56 US ounces)

Which translates into 1.75 qts.

Notice these guys jumped to conclusions about it being between 2 and 3 qts. I just said I usually buy 3 and have some left over, I never remember how much I had left from the last time.

That said, get 3. unless you are using a pump of some sort you usually can't get an 1/8 to a 1/4 of a quart out by squeezing the bottle into the hole.

Or, if you're like me, the last time I drained and filled a diff I ended up spilling a bottle with my leg and ended up losing about a pint on the garage floor.

always 3 qts for diff and will remain +/-¼ qts....the fill near of the filler plug
