Like most of us ranger owners, I'm not too happy with the accuracy of the stock gauges and I want to put some after market gauges in. I'm for sure going to install an oil pressure and water temp gauge, and maybe an ammeter or volt meter.

I've never added gauges on a car with computer before and I was wondering if someone could tell me how hard it is to do without confusing the computer and screwing everything up.

I was also wondering if anyone had any pictures they could post of where they mounted and how they arranged their gauges, I dont want them on the A-pillar, and overall, i'm trying to keep it as close to stock looking as possible, but i may still be open to getting rid of the original cluster completely and fabbing a new one, but that's not my first choice....

I replaced my stock dash with equus tach and speedo. Adding gauges to an old Ranger is as easy as it gets. Tons of us have done it. Just ask questions here if you're stuck.

Here a couple of pics of where I mounted oil press and water temp gauges on my Bll. I mounted them on the pastic trim and run the sensors beside the steering column. I put the ground for the lighting to one of the screws behind the trim and tied the hot wire into the instrument panel light circuit.

It shouldn't affect the computer. It's pretty easy to do. The hardest part was getting the sensors thru the firewall. Hope this helps.

All I had to do was remove the ashtray mount and screw the bracket for the gauges into the plastic.
I used existing holes in the firewall to route the sending units for the gauges.
