Maybe a stupid question but I thought I'd ask anyway.

If I replace the stock bulbs with white LED's and don't remove the green film, it will still show through green right? Hopefully a little brighter?

You probably will only recognize a brighter green color tint unless you get a specific color of LED light.

Incandescent lights emit nearly the full spectrum of light. LED lights only emit specific wavelengths, not the whole spectrum. The white LED lights emit blue (usually) high intensity light. The bulbs will be lighter, but the green film will have a little more blue tint to it.

You may not notice the blue tint due to the green film. If you want a different color, you should remove the green colored film.

On my '97 it's actually a BLUE filter. The yellow tint of the incandescent bulbs made it shine through green (yellow+blue=green).

I used "bright white" LED's.

It's not a bad blue, but not green as I was expecting. Get a color shade close to that of the yellow incandescent bulbs and it should show through green. I used single super bright LED's with a 120* angle and they look fine at night. use the ones with the radially mounted LED's to make it brighter.

It's never as bad as it is in pictures.

Thanks, I like the stock green, just want to brighten it up a bit.

You could use warm LEDs. They have a more yellow light instead of a blue
