Gas Theives

lol, i keep a quarter tank, unless im goin wheelin, or takin a long trip, not sure my tank size, but it cant be much, and besides my trucks, got underbody protection on it, its just a steel plate, that runs across teh bottom, mounted to the frame, and body.

It was on the local news here where the copd caught a guy who had parked his can over top of the fill plates for the underground tanks at a local station. He had electric pumps inside the van to pump the gas out of the 25,000 gallon inground tanks. He had raised the hood on the van & pretended to act as if he was broke down & was working on the underside of the van. The owner got worried & called the cops. Come to find out the guy had a 350 & 250 gallon holding tanks inside the van he was planning on filling up FREE. The only thing he got FREE was a free pass to jail. At 3.599 a gallon that comes to $2159.40 worth of gas.

Does anyone remember the old "model T coils" from years pass? I happen to have 4 of them & have installed them on my vehicles. You want my gas? Come & get it. And get the SHOCK of your life when you do. It will give you a BUZZ like you ain't never had before & one you won't forget for a long time either. Do what you gotta do to protect what is yours & what you have PAID for is my belief. There is also another way of protecting your vehicle using electricity too but I won't post it on this forum. If anyone is interested in knowing how, send me an email & I will tel you how it's done. Very simple to do & EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE. Guaranteed to deter the theives. Can't see it, can't smell it, can't hear it BUT they can definitly FEEL IT. I used it many years ago to stop a neighbor's dog from pissing on my high dollar wheels I had on a Show Van I had built. The dog didn't die BUT e never ever came back around my avn ever after that. Once was definitly enough.

my neighbor down state had all 30 something gallons sucked out of his 1500 dodge ram! my dads going out and buying locking gas caps for all the vehicles, thats $100+ gone and the poor guy is suppose to go to Florida today!!!!!

About 12 years ago my uncle had an old 75 F250. A local theif that everyone was aware of but never managed to catch would drain the tank of the F250 every week or so. My uncle had parked the truck in prep to replace the 360 with a 390 he bought. He unhooked the fuel lines and added water, sugar etc to the little bit of gas left in the tank. A few days later the theif's car was smoking and bucking as it went by and he came walking back later...

I had forgot about that incident until now. I'll have to remember to ask him what all he doctored the tank with the next time i see him.

You know, somehow, making sparks right next to the fuel filler neck doesn't sound like the brightest idea ever....

And injuring someone committing a petty property crime is excessive and in some places is considered assault. Injuring a passing pedestrian who happens to lean on your car to take a rest is ALWAYS assault.

You can't claim you're threatened under this situation. It's not self defense if you aren't even there.

Not everyone who touches your car is stealing something. Remember this when you send the 2 year old testing his parents' limits in the supermarket parking lot to the hospital.

got a new gas cap today- 16 bucks, worth it i guess

one of the guys at napa gave me an idea
leaving a gas can with diesel or polluted gas in the back of the truck

i cant do it right away, cause that would be suspicious, locked tank but a free can?

so in a couple weeks ill throw a lawn mower and a "poisoned" can in the back of the truck overnight untill they take the bait

what would be the best to put in the can, meaning what would do the worst damage to a engine?

methinks diesel or the gas mixed w 2cycle oil that we put in the weed eater

Two stroke oil won't hurt a thing, we dilute our old two stroke fuel with plain gas and use it in our tractors just fine. Diesel is pretty hard on a gas engine though, a little sugar wouldn't be a bad idea too.

BUT, it isn't all that hard to break a locking gas cap or cut the fuel fill hose, so if you tick someone off bad enough they might return the favor...

Bleach, or floor stripper mixed in. Just MAKE SURE that nobody you care about will touch the can, and wear saftey equipment when mixing....Will ruin the whole fuel system...from experience.

I have a kit that you cvan use to convert a T coil to a electric fence charger. I use old buzz boxes on my old engines.

On mythbusters they were testing all kinds of things in the fuel system, the engine ran fine with bleach in the gas but they came back the next day and the gas tank had shit tons of rust in the bottom.

Yup...the point is that the stuff is extremely corrosive and it gets pulled though the system without being noticed. Then you let the car sit overnight or for a few days... Floor stripper is good too because it completely distroys rubber and I've seen it discolor stainless.

White phosphorus in the can. Fine in gasoline. Big problem in air.

But rather toxic for the handler (that would be you) and controlled by the DEA as a meth precursor.

I would be pissed if someone ripped off $50 worth of fuel from my Ranger. I have a tendence to leave the tank at least half full or more. And with me driving the motorcycle more, the tank might sit at 3/4 full for more than 2 weeks. Last time I filled up, gas was $3.21/gal.
