Gas Mileage with 4.0L Ranger

'93 4.0 ohv supercab, 3.73's, manual trans, 4x4. 235-75-15's. in ohio. best ive ever got was 19.5, usually get about 15-17, ivegot a fiberglass cap, grille guard, tube steps and the weight as driven is 4300 pounds. winter i dont even check it, i carry extra weight and usually leave the hubs locked if theres snow on the ground, id guess 15 is the best it probly does during the winter.

Southern Indiana

Upper Michigan! 2001 Ranger Flareside. 4x4 Auto. 15-17 average 20-22 highway.

03 4x4 Edge 32x11.50's. When I get 17 mpg I'm singin a song! Mostly 15-16 mixed driving. Thought about dumping the 4.0 and dropping in a 4BT. I know full sizes that get better.

its winter which means lots of idling, and colder temps mean less mpg.

i was getting 20 on the highway with 32's
will see what i get with the 33's come summer.

I get 16-17 in my 94 4.0 4x4 5 speed and I live in TN

My gas mileage is all over the place. I get as low as 11.5 mpg (off-road, 4WD low range with a lot of steep climbing) and as high as over 20 mpg (2WD on interstate wit 33" tires at around 72 mpg with some elevation decline). I average around 15 mpg with 4.56 gears (was 16 mpg with 4.10 gears) around town and 18 mpg highway mileage (change in gears does not seem to make a difference). I average around 14 to 14.5 mpg towing my race car in a low enclosed trailer.
My truck and where I live is in my signature and avatar information.
