Garret T3 Turbo

Makes sense, my remarks were more pointed at the original poster in this thread than to you, Captain Ledd.

yeah reading it afterwards I guess it came across as sort of hostile, that wasn't my intent. I apologize.

The IHI seems to be making power about where I'd expect it, and I keep hoping I'll run across some sort of information on it and use Ford to do all the hard work and calculations for me :D. I have tons of sites bookmarked on Turbo tech, and really I should sit down and work out the math anyways, but I just haven't bothered yet.

Looking for the #2 Turbo in this post.

Looking to get the #2 Turbo in this post.
Does anyone have the actual Turbo code or original OEM#?
Thanks

2) Most 83-86 thunderbirds, and a lot of Merkurs got a Garrett T3 with 0.60 A/R coldside and 0.48 A/R hotside. This turbo will spool a few hundred RPM sooner than the 0.60 hotside model, but are good for about 20 less horsepower.

The Merkur turbos were matched to the 2.3 to produce low end torq the Mustang and Tbird s were sized to produce HP and higher end torq. Thats from the 2.3 Ford engineerig group that I WORKED WITH FOR A YEAR OR TWO.

I helped another enginer build a 5.0 turbo set up in his tbird he got tired on the turbo 2.3. It produced about 600 lbs of RWT using the Merkur turbos.

Either way you go suggest the water cooled bearing housings from later models.

***Yes i need the one that spools faster, this is for an old 1969 triumph tr6 project car.
Anyone know the actual model i ask for and where i might get one soon. THX

I would look up info on turboed vehicles with the same displacement and RPM range as the GT6 motor to start.

Example 2 stock Grand National buick turbos might be a good choice for a 460
