We will see. You must have had a bad experience with K&N.

no, you are just wrong. Don't be an idiot, I know more than you do. Take my advise and do one search, everyone knows they are a ripoff

ok bro
after installing a K&N on my papa's L82 350 in his '57, it made a hell of a difference... ever since then ive been all for K&N... if it doesnt help any on the BII, oh well
you would be suprised how much i know about cars for a 17 year old, i promise you.
4x4's and low riders, i may lack knowledge on suspension and steering wise... but i know a great deal about cars in general for my age... especially drivetrain on older vehicles
dont say u know more than i do when u dont even know me, even if u might know more. it's pretty rude man

I would save my money on the CAI and worry about gears and upgrading the axles.

Does your truck have the D35 or D28? The build date will tell you. After 11/89 has the good stuff.

You will be looking for a M code on the trans. That'll be the M5OD. Wonderfully geared 1st.

Might wanna upgrade the clutch to a 10" 4.0 clutch. The stock one tends to slip a little.

Instead of a suspension lift, a B2 is better suited to a small body lift, 1-2 inches and some fender trimming will get you the bigger tires and keep a low COG. They tend to get tippy.

HID's will be a great improvement, 20+ year old lenses suck for visibility.

Last but not least. The 2.9 is a great engine, but it has its limitations. The 4.0 is the next logical choice. Its pretty much plug and play. Its the engine that should have been in the B2 from the start.

Good luck on your truck

I already have a lead on one for $100.
Ur the one that come at me calling me an idiot and automatically suggesting you know more than i do, even though you dont know me... all because of my beliefs on an intake system. And im the punk? ok lol It's people like you that make me stay away from most forums.

To you other guys, thanks for all of the reasonable and respectful responses.

You will get more hp from any flames, rallye stripes, and summit or jegs stickers hahaha

Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions for the build and thanks for the good luck. I will text my uncle and ask him about the D35 or D28 question as well as transmission and getting the build date. The truck already has a 3-4 inch body lift he says. You can actually see evidence of it in one of the pics where it looks like the bumper isnt mounted right haha. What do you mean by "COG?" And i am currently researching the HID conversion. Definitely looking toward the retrofit projectors, seems like they know what they are doing! Can't wait to get the truck here, it's gone be fun, that's for sure!

Put together a sentence with proper grammar and spelling and maybe we will take you seriously.

It's an online forum, not a senior essay. Please don't post on my thread any more if you have nothing positive to say, it's wasting my time and yours as well because you are proving nothing.

COG- center of gravity. B2's are very top heavy. You don't wanna get them too high

- Brakes... Warn Brakes

What are warn brakes ? I had never heard of them?
Further people give constructive criticism and kids like you might not know how to take it, Benny booster is giving you a heads up that the k&n suck take it as a grain a salt, an opinions that's all they are. In any forum if you wanna play along you go along. There is a great deal of knowledge that is all over in this forum. This forum has pretty much steered me into building my b2 the way it is now. Good luck on the build .
