I'm looking at an '03 Ranger FX4 and I'm wondering what is the difference between that and the Level II?

level II has skid plates, bfg 31/10.50s stock, chrome tow hooks and manual or automatic shift t-case, 8.8 with 4.10 gears, 4.0 standard engine and shocks i think. fx4 has just skid plates 4.10 gears and shocks. im pretty sure these are the differences.

The Level II also came with a 8.8 4.10 31-spline torsen l/s diff. Blisten shocks. Alcoa 15x7 wheels on 31x10.5R15 BGF All-Terrian KO.

The FX4 is almost the same, just a step down with pretty badges to step it from a XLT 4x4.

the level II also has alcoa wheels and bucket seats

Is the 8.8 rear standard with the 4.0 in all rangers? I plan on installing a locker.

yes but the FX4 has 31 spline axels. as opposed to 28 i think

stronger axels
and youll have a limited slip

02-03 FXLII also came with an optional manual t-case, as well as a torson limited slip, not a clutch pack style like the rest of the rangers.

If you plan on swapping in a locker, look for an explorer one that is open. Cheaper for you, all you have to do is worry about spring perches, and convert it to spring over.
