FX4 Level 2 lift questions

wheels and lift under $1000 bucks isn't totally bizarre if you go with a body-lift and cheap rims or stay with stock rims and just get the tires.
i had a 2000 ranger xlt and my b-n-law and i put on a 3" body-lift for 33" tires but i also got the bumper lift for both and bought some black spray paint and touched up the frame and painted the hitch because you see everything for sure.
i've heard really bad things over the years about cranking the torsion bars, i don't know that i'd go for that one.
really, a suspension lift is the best way to do it but it can get pricey and would suggest if you do it yourself get a friend to help either with the body-lift or suspension!!!
personally i want to get my fx4 in the sky so bad that i may settle for the body-lift because i honestly don't think they look bad...if you do it right. the worst thing is that you see right through the gap between the bed and the frame. easy solution...rubber or plastic can cover it up just like in front where it keeps the crap off the motor.
good luck brother!!!:headbang:

Honestly...I don't get why people think bodylifted rangers look ugly. Lets face it....look at a stock S10 or tacoma....there is the same amout of frame showing on them compared to a body lifted ranger!!

I need to get my damn gap gaurds on! lol. I took my horns out and now you can see through the gap between the bed and frame. darnit. lol.

BFG Makes a 32x11.5 and 33's in 9.5, 10.5 and 12.5. I run 33x9.5's for the winter and only get slight rubbing at full turn.

No tbar crank, but I'd don't off road either (at least not on purpose).

I had a thread on level 2s someone posted badass pics of a fx4 with 3 inch bodylift on 33s it is one nice truck, looks factory, only real way to lift a ifs for major offroading is cut it off and put a solid axel under it, hell it would even be less then lifting ifs if you do it yourself. Id do a bl and 33 mud terrains your ifs will be just fine off road its not like you want to get into to many places and beat the shit outa your truck, ive seen junk yodas go alot of places with ifs just fine and christ thats a toyota. Search my user name and check out the pic id post it but im on a phone, youll change your mind about a bl when you seen them.

Exactly, people need to look at the stock toyota spacers the are about 5x a stock ranger and thats the reason why they look like they have a lift. They do, a body lift!

Body Lift...No Problem

Its Cheap and Removable. Your Ranger has the suspension package for pure off-roading. Its a step above the regular FX4 Ranger. You have the suspension to hold up against the trail so I would suggest the body lift!

Yeah I have the 2002 FX4 with 33 X 12.5 Good Year DuraTracs (I used to have the BFG ATs, but I liked the tread on the sides of these better). I have a 3" body lift, and it really doesn't look too bad.

Kind of an older pic, but you get the message for the body lift!
