full size blazer tranny swap

my friend got a fullsize blazer with a manual trans (3 fwd speeds plus granny low) but he wants a 5 speed -is an nv4500 a direct swap?

Kinda, sorta, but it will take some work, you are going to have to find a mid 90's Chevy NV4500 and a passenger side drop transfercase that will bolt to it because a K-5 Blazer is a passenger side front diff and all NV4500 tranny's came in vehicles with driver side t-cases. If you can find a 90 or 91 Blazer with a 700R4 in it I think they came with a NV241 case and it MAY bolt to a NV4500 but I can't remember, your best bet would be to go over to www.ck5.com and ask, if it has to do with a Blazer, it is on there, if you can't find the K5 info you need there, you don't need it...
