Hello Everyone, I'm currently having trouble locating a fuel tank for a 1993 2.3L_XLT, long bed Ford Ranger. My truck was stolen for a few hours, when we found the truck hours later, the thieves had managed to perforate the fuel tank with a drill bit, just to drain the very little fuel it had. Yes, here in Paradise, Oakland California; if you can believe that. It seems no auto part store in the State can help me. I'm hoping to find some guidance from y'all here, point me in the right direction, or perhaps one of you has a spare somewhere and is willing to sell it. Thank y'all and God Bless this great country.

Have you tried LMC Truck?

Welcome to TRS :)

1993 Long Bed Ranger(7ft bed) will have a 20gal gas tank(19.5gal) so same gas tank as all extended cab Rangers
Wrecking yards are your best bet

If the hole is in the flat bottom of the tank then you can repair it for now using a short self tapping screw from the outside, and some sealant
And down the road when you can get inside the tank, you can use bolt/nut set up with rubber washers to seal the hole permanently

I tried LMCTRUCKS.COM and they sure have a wide variety of parts. Unfortunately they couldn't help me. They didn't have the tank for my 1993 Ford Ranger. I'm going to try to repair it as suggested; bolt/nut and rubber washer and some fuel resistant sealant. Thank you all.

Ebay and car-part.com would be worth a look.

Great idea. I'd suggest a drain plug so they get the few gallons of gas without destroying the tank again.

I've sealed a metal tank like that with a sheet metal screw overlaid with epoxy. This lasted as long as I owned the car. Check the sealed leak with a small amount of gasoline.

You might also check Spectra for a new tank:
