eve more confused I got a 2000 explorer fuel rail for the 98 motor the injector plugs are different now i am lost cant find anything about the change my question is whats the fix cant locate any new plugs can i use the injectors from the two line rail with the one line rail
thanks wayne

So your injectors are from a 98 then, correct? Rock Auto sells the individual connectors, so you have that option.

The 98 injectors looked like this image below, and my brothers 2001 had 2 notches in the side. I assume your connectors have the notches?

Anyway, Rock Auto sells these for $4.80 a piece if you can just swap the connectors. (STANDARD MOTOR PRODUCTS Part # S697)

Hopefully I am understanding your question correctly :D

You can use the older style injector in the newer fuel rail, if that's what you're asking.

Me corn-fused as weel. What harness are you using? Injectors got changed in the Explorers in '99' to the 17# ones (ivory/off white tops), maybe to the EV-6 wiring connectors. Have to look but I'm sure I have 24# one mine with the 2000 harness and no problems. Like Shane said, there are short adapters to switch from one to the other.
