Does anyone have a source for the Fuel Injector Gasket/Insulator shown in the Photos? Ford lists it as no longer available. Part #FOTZ-9U550-A (from a 1993 Ranger 4.0 OHV) To be clear I'm not looking for the o-rings, those are a dime a dozen. But the big rubber piece shown.

Try a pick and pay, I've found better gaskets there than you can get at the stores these days. Plus you get the original and not some POS knock-off

I'm not an expert, but been doing a little digging...it's a Fuel injector insulator. There are kits available at local auto parts stores but hit or miss. May be able to find a generic. Found some on CariD. Still looking though

Found a company called Green Tune (www.greentuneautomotive.com) that lists them in their catalog, but it doesn't appear as though they sell direct. I'll call them today and see if I can find out who sells their stuff and post what I find.

If not, I'll try the pick and pay. I need a couple of other things too and there is a place not to far away that has 6-7 vehicles of the right vintage. Have to tear an engine apart for one lousy lifter & one fuel injector! With any luck there will be one already torn down.

They're really not that hard to tear down once you get a rhythym going. Also I'd suggest studying into how many years those injectors were used, I've found parts for my 93 that are late as 2011. I'm not sure how many years had the curved pipe up from the EGR valve but my 96 has it, pulling the upper intake takes lift and twist, it might show in my 96 Explorer thread

Yes it did, page 6

Do you have to use those insulators? I purchased some they are plastic and they don’t fit.

I can't see how they do anything more than reduce noise. That said I had enough with a couple junkyard injectors to cover mine so I cleaned them and glued em back on with some silicone.

If you really wanna be good, go to a well stocked hardware store and look for grommets that fit over the injectors.
